6 wire generator zig-zag?

Postby jamboly » Thu Jan 19, 2012 10:10 pm

Everything I have seen about getting 120 and 240 from 3 phase generators using a zig-zag configuration use 12 wire generators. It is possible to do something similar with a 6 wire (such as a 5KW MEP017A)?

Of course. Re-Wiring a Three-Phase Generator.
A six-wire is suitable, you have less to figure out actually. A twelve wire has two sets of coils that can be wired series or parallel to obtain a greater voltage range.
