Customize Intranet

Hi,

I have a Magnia SG20 that I plan to use at a convention this summer. Is it possible to customize the intranet pages? I want to be able to have convention schedule info and updates available via wireless for convention attendees.

Of course! You can edit/add pages in the intranet share (via network neighborhood) and set custom from the SG20 administration menu, or you can completely customize /sa2/web/intranet.

I didn't like the Toshiba setup, so I disabled httpd_intranet in the Bootup/shutdown menu and enabled httpd. The apache server even ran THIS site for a while.

Well I have tried but I could not figure it out. Can you post some simple basic instructions on how to customize the intranet?

From the User's Guide:
Developing an intranet from scratch
If you’ve outgrown the preinstalled intranet or simply want to develop your own intranet pages, the Magnia SG20 lets you do that. Enter http://myserver/intranet/ to direct your browser to a second intranet Web site that the Magnia SG20 provides for just such a purpose.
The “applianceadmin” account has complete read and write control over the source code for this Web site. Using Network Neighborhood, locate the intranet share under myserver, which contains the source code for this placeholder page.

Alternative:
Using WEBMIN, go to "System" and click on "Bootup and Shutdown".
Find httpd_intranet and click on it.
Change "Start at boot time?" radio button to "No".
Return to bootup and shutdown actions. (link on bottom of page)
Find httpd and click on it
Change "Start at boot time?" radio button to "Yes".
Restart your magnia.

You are now running a standard Apache server. You can now read up on / learn how to administrate an Apache server and run any kind of site you like.
Teaching you how to set up and run an apache server is a little overboard. The default site settings should work for you fine and all you have to do is compose your pages and upload them to the correct location on your magnia.
