GNOME/KDE-functionality

Postby DrSterni » Wed May 04, 2005 9:16 pm

Hi @ all!

Did the development of the KDE-functionallity on the SG20 carry on a little bit?

Having such a possibility would just be GREAT!

Unfortunately most of the graphic-based packages are made for KDE, that's why a GNOME-system does not actually suit most users' needs, right? Or did I misunderstand something?

All the best so far!

Dr.Sterni.

KDE will work on the magnia. You need to find the appropriate files for REDHAT 7.3 and install them.

The biggest problem is that the Magnia's partitions have very little room for adding software. The partitions are root "/", "var" and "home" with almost all free space in the "home" partition. There are no real tools available to adjust the partition sizes on-the-fly, and RPM's don't give you any user-level options for install locations.
